START/FINISH & RACE DAY PARKING
The race will start and finish in Aptos Village Park (100 Aptos Creek Road, Aptos, CA; see map at right). Runners will be directed to park their cars outside of Aptos Village Park, in a dedicated lot. Please help us be good neighbors by parking only where our volunteer parking monitors direct you to park; leaving your car elsewhere may disrupt customer access to local businesses. Allow extra time for parking, and anticipate a short walk to the start/finish. KIDS' MINI-MEET One of SCTC’s Youth Program Coaches will lead kids through track and field activities on the big field next to the start/finish area. Participants in the Mini-Meet must be supervised by an adult. (In other words, we can’t provide childcare— just something fun for kids to do during the race.) The event is completely free, but our insurance requires that parents/guardians sign a waiver; you may do this at the registration table on race morning. The Mini-Meet will begin shortly after 9 a.m. |
RAFFLE
We have several prizes that were graciously donated by local businesses and Track Club members, and we are excited to raffle them off! Every runner will receive one raffle ticket free with registration. Additional tickets can be purchased on Saturday at packet pick-up or on race day for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The drawing will be held following the awards ceremony. You must be present to win. If you think you will still be on the course at that point, feel free to write the name of a friend or family member on the back of your ticket(s) along with your own name, and give them the stub(s); they can claim your prize for you. SPECTATORS Family members/cheering sections are allowed on the course, but we encourage them to drive into the park before 9 a.m., otherwise they will cause unnecessary vehicle traffic that endangers the other racers. If you park within Nisene Marks State Park, you will need to purchase a permit at the entrance station, so please allow extra time to do this. |
